Whereas, the expansion of gambling across various mediums and platforms has shown a marked increase in recent years, leading to significant social, economic, and personal impacts on individuals and communities alike; and

Whereas, gambling has been identified as a contributing factor to addiction, with characteristics mirroring those of substance dependencies, earning it the moniker “financial fentanyl,” due to its addictive nature and devastating effects on individuals’ financial health and well-being; and

Whereas, the proliferation of gambling opportunities functions effectively as a regressive tax on the poorest members of society, exacerbating existing socioeconomic disparities and contributing to further impoverishment; and

Whereas, the principles and practices promoted by gambling institutions often contradict sound financial management and stewardship principles, teaching reliance on chance rather than prudent financial planning and hard work;

Therefore, be it resolved, that Christian Liberty Network hereby expresses its opposition to the expansion of gambling and calls upon local, state, and federal governments to implement and enforce regulations that limit the growth of gambling operations; and

Be it further resolved, that Christian Liberty Network commits to advocating for policies that support alternative forms of economic development which do not rely on gambling revenues and that promote financial literacy and responsible money management among the population; and

Be it further resolved, that [Name of Organization/Body] will engage in public awareness campaigns to educate the community on the risks associated with gambling, including the potential for addiction, financial ruin, and the undermining of the foundational principles of sound financial management.
